Meet the AB Student Ambassadors
As a Student Ambassador, our students have the opportunity to represent the undergraduate and graduate student body of Alderson Broaddus University and participate in campus events that relate to admissions, student retention, and alumni affairs. While expanding his/her professional knowledge and experience, our Ambassadors provide a student perspective to potential students and their families, current students, and alumni while working with the Alderson Broaddus University Office of Admissions.
Serving as an Ambassador is an honor and a distinction.

Why did you choose to #BecomeABattler?
I became a Battler because I love being part of a small campus community; everyone knows everyone. Here at AB, you are bound to make friends who become family. Being from Las Vegas, I only experience one season, summer. It is nice to be able to experience all four seasons.
What is your favorite Battler memory?
My favorite Battler memory was the 2019 Homecoming celebration. Homecoming brings everyone together, and it is nice to see the alumni and friends of AB reconnect and fellowship together. The week is packed with fun events, great food, and amazing people.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Enjoy every moment of your college experience! You may feel like you need to have your life figured out right away, but you will find yourself realizing you have the time and the resources you need to succeed. It truly goes by faster than you think; soak it all in and live day by day.

Why did you choose to #BecomeABattler?
I chose to #BecomeABattler because I loved the family environment I felt when I stepped on the mountaintop! I love the classroom sizes and the opportunities, whether it be academic, professional, or personal, I am afforded here at AB.
What is your favorite Battler memory?
My first Alderson Broaddus Homecoming celebration is my fondest memory. The sporting events, the festivities, and the activities were so much fun and made for my best memories thus far.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Don’t be afraid to make friends! Talking to the person sitting next to you in class or on your registration visit can be your best friend for the next four years and beyond. Making lifelong friends is part of the college experience.

Why did you choose to #BecomeABattler?
The small, family-like atmosphere was the biggest draw for me. The day I first visited the mountaintop for a campus tour, I felt like I belonged. Now, almost everyone can call me by name; you don’t get that treatment everywhere.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Get involved and make friends. The goal when attending college is to excel and grow academically. Do that, but don’t forget to have fun and live a little!

Why did you choose to #BecomeABattler?
From the moment I stepped on to the mountaintop, I felt at home. I loved the small campus feel and the small class sizes. I was also able to continue my competitive cheerleading career and pursue my future career goals all in one place.
What is the BEST reason to attend Alderson Broaddus?
Alderson Broaddus has the best professors who are supportive and genuinely want you to succeed in your chosen discipline. While teaching and preparing us for the future, they get to know us as a person and not just a student.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Push yourself out of your comfort zone by joining academic and Greek organizations. Make friends outside of your athletic team or academic major; these will be the people who will leave a lasting impression on you.

I am from a small town in West Virginia, and Alderson Broaddus felt like home. The faculty and staff were incredibly supportive and offered outstanding assistance during my application and admission process, making my decision to attend much more comfortable.

The best part about AB is the students. Everyone is friendly, and we all have a great bond with each other.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
The best piece of advice I can give is to get involved. The more involved you are, the more people you will meet and the more enriching your college experience will be.

The best reason to attend AB is the fact that everyone on campus, faculty, staff, and students, feel like family. It is easy to make lifelong connections and get involved in and out of the classroom.
What will you do after graduation?
I plan to continue my academic journey at Alderson Broaddus as part of the physician assistant program.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Academic achievement is important, but it is also essential to enjoy your experience outside of the classroom. If you manage your time wisely, you can have the best of both worlds.

Why did you choose to #BecomeABattler?
When looking at colleges, I wanted to find a school that offered a great biology program and an excellent athletic department. I discovered that Alderson Broaddus offered both. I fell in love with the campus on my first visit. A school that offered small class sizes, a small campus, and one on one time with professors is what I found here on the mountaintop. Alderson Broaddus has become my home away from home.

The best reason to attend AB is the atmosphere. Everyone is friendly, supportive, and always have a smile on thier face. The one on one interactions with professors and staff are amazing.
What will you do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to pursue graduate-level study to further my passion for biology. Once I have my Ph.D., I plan to move south and become a professor.

Why did you choose to #BecomeABattler?
Even though my hometown is six hours away, I chose Alderson Broaddus because it felt like home. On my first visit, everyone was genuinely nice, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I told my mom that if everything fell into place that the mountaintop was where I wanted to be. I feel that AB chose me and has allowed me to grow into the person I am becoming every day.

The best reason to attend AB is the caring community in and around the university. AB is a small university with big opportunities; take the opportunities as they come and discover your pathway to a successful future.

Alderson Broaddus offers small class sizes that allow for great student and professor relationships. The professors go above and beyond to make sure you are supported and excel in and out of the classroom.
What is your favorite Battler memory?
Being on the Homecoming court and competing in the annual Homecoming pageant has been my fondest memory. Homecoming is a time when we are all able to get together and enjoy time with our fellow students, faculty, staff, and members of our alumni community.
What college life advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Go outside of your comfort zone, especially in your first year. Don’t be afraid to try new things by getting involved with clubs, student organizations, and residence life opportunities. Be kind and welcoming to others; you will make friendships that will last a lifetime.
